CREW DESCRIPTIONS

 

MAIN GATE/WILL CALL/BOX OFFICE


THE CREW

You are the first contact ambassador of NGL as you greet ticket holders,do gate sales and WILL CALL ticket pick-ups.  This can be a very busy place especially at peak entry times. If you are 18 years or older have high energy, great organizational and communication skills ,can work well under pressure and have a great sense of humor consider being part of this team.

 

THE JOB:

  • Scanning tickets for entry

  • Handing out wristbands

  • Distribute passes from will call lists - checking credentials 

  • Selling Tickets

  • Provide requested information to the public

  • Handling of cash, credit card machines and scanners - including end of day settlements

  • Days required - Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday

 

THE MUSTS:

                                                                                   Cash-handling

  • Proficient in the use of technical devices & equipment

  • Agree to background check - if required

  • Be available for early morning shifts

 

 

FESTIVAL ENTRY GATE

THE CREW: 

Our entry gate crew is responsible for managing all of the foot traffic onto the festival field and are generally the first up close volunteers asked question about No Greater Love. This crew is also the eyes and ears on the ground at the entry gate working in conjunction with security.

 

THE JOB:

  • Checking wristbands for validity

  • Working with security to do bag checks

 

THE MUSTS:

  • A minimum of 18 years of age

  • Working with the public; strong interpersonal skills

  • Walking or standing for periods at a time

  • An attention to detail

  • Ability to handle conflict if it occurs

  • Willingness to train to garner a strong knowledge of festival grounds to answer patron questions if asked

 

 

ON THE FIELD GREETERS/INFORMATION BOOTH
 

THE CREW: 

This crew is the “warm welcome” of the festival! These volunteers are high energy individuals who get people excited about the festival! Eager to help and answer questions and give directions.

THE JOB:

  • Answer questions from the public and volunteers regarding the Festival

  • Working up close with the public

  • Assist lost children (or parents)

  • Attend to lost and found items

  • Record comments/concerns/complaints

 

  THE MUSTS:

                                                        A minimum of 16 years of age

  • Working with the public; strong interpersonal skills

  • Walking or standing for periods at a time

  • Love high energy and social situations

  • Quick thinker and ability to resolve problems

  • Willing to train to garner knowledge of Festival site and procedures

 

 

SPECIAL ACCESS


THE CREW: 

This crew is happy to greet and provide assistance to patrons with disabilities or any others who may require special assistance.

THE JOB:

  • Greeting and guiding patrons with disabilities and their caregivers

  • Manage access area

  • Ability to drive a golf cart

  • Some heavy lifting may be required

THE MUSTS:

  • A minimum of 18 years of age

  • Working with the public; strong interpersonal skills

  • Walking or standing for periods at a time

  • Be able to push a wheelchair, at the request of the patron

  • Experience/training with persons with disabilities (asset)

 

SHUTTLE DRIVERS/HOSTS - AIRPORT & FESTIVAL


THE CREW:

This is a split crew of drivers and shuttle hosts specific to our artists. This crew is the first contact for our festival artists arriving by plane, and offers unique experiences.   

 

THE JOB:

  • Driver/ Operate a 8 - 10 Passenger Vans, large SUV's and Cargo Vans

  • HOST/ Accompany shuttle driver for airport pickups 

  • Assist with guest baggage and artist equipment (loading and unloading)

  • Interact with artists in a professional and friendly manner

 

THE MUSTS:

  • A minimum of 25 years of age

  • Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to drive safely with potential distractions

  • Physical labor; includes heavy lifting

  • Be OK sitting for periods of time

  • Ability to work various hours including early mornings and late night shifts

  • Must have an outgoing personality and sense of humor

 

 

AIRPORT GREETER


THE CREW: 

You will be the face of No Greater Love onsite in baggage claim at the airport to greet the artists when they arrive at the airport. 

 

THE JOB:

  • Greet incoming artists and crew on the ground inside the airport

  • When required direct artists to the awaiting shuttle vehicles for transport

  • Assist with guest baggage

  • Interact with artists in a professional and friendly manner

THE MUSTS:

  • A minimum of 25 years of age

  • Physical labor; includes heavy lifting

  • Be ok sitting and standing for periods of time

  • Ability to work various hours including early mornings and late night shifts

 

 

SECURITY


THE CREW: 

The festival is lucky to have a strong security team in place to keep festival patrons safe during festival weekend. Our volunteer security crews compliment our team and help with the safety and security of all patrons on the grounds. This crew will be assigned by our lead security, appropriate positions throughout the grounds throughout the duration of the festival.  Those area could be but not limited to:

THE JOB:

  • Must be willing to attend training and briefing sessions from Security Lead

  • Working with the public; strong interpersonal skills

  • Walking or standing for periods at a time

  • Be comfortable with conflict resolution

  • Uphold a positive festival environment

 

 

TRAFFIC CONTROL AND PARKING


THE CREW: 

There is a lot going on at NGL with everyone wanting to gain access to the site. General parking is located on a seperate site with shuttles running to the festival grounds. Only patrons that have purchased handicapped parking passes, camping passes, volunteer parking passes or have backstage passes are able to drive onto the grounds and into specific areas. This crew ensures the regulation of this traffic.

THE JOB:

                                                               Setup of cones and signage

                                             Scan Parking Pass to permit entry to parking area

  • Answer patron questions

  • Check for the appropriate parking and vehicle access into parking area ie: VIP/Regular

THE MUSTS:

  • Patience and a sense of humor

  • Must be able to commit to an 8 hour shift and early mornings late evenings

 

CAMPING AREA


THE CREW: 

The camping area is a bustling area where patrons will be arriving eager to get setup and settled in for the weekend.  This crew will be responsible for the overseeing of the camping area upon setup and tear down. 

THE JOB:

  • Setup of cones and signage 

  • Direct traffic and setup of camping sites 

  • Scan Camping Pass to permit entry into camping area

  • Issue camping wristbands to patrons

  • Answer patron questions

THE MUSTS:

                                                       A minimum of 18 years of age

  • Working with the public; strong interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Quick thinker and ability to resolve problems

  • Knowledge of Festival site and procedures

  • Must be able to commit to 8 hour shifts some early morning

 

 

KIDS KINGDOM AND SKATEBOARD PARK


THE CREW: 

The Festival prides itself on being family friendly. To do this we have specified areas that run kids activities. These team volunteers are the ones that love kids and love to create and manage these areas with leadership,enthusiasm and patience.

THE JOB:

  • Set up and organize your area

  • Supervise the activities and games area

  • Ensure games are age-appropriate and that there is no overcrowding

  • Enforce safety and area policies

THE MUSTS:

  • A minimum of 16 years of age

  • Working with the public; strong interpersonal skills

  • Working with kids or strong parenting skills

  • Walking or standing for periods at a time

  • First Aid and CPR (assets)

 

    MERCHANDISE TENT


THE CREW:

This team loves people and loves to help them shop. This crew has to be fast on their feet as this area during peak times can get pretty busy! 

THE JOB:

  • Sort and do inventory control of merchandise  

  • Promote Artist and NGL products and sell merchandise

  • Monitor stock and maintain related records

  • Fill out paperwork 

  • Provide good customer service

  • Operating cash boxes, credit card/debit machines 

  • Account for sales and settlements at end of shift 

THE MUSTS:

                                                           A minimum of 18 years of age 

  • Knowledge of merchandise sales 

  • Knowledge of merchandise electronic systems

  • Knowledge of inventory taking

  • Working with the public; strong interpersonal skills

  • Cash-handling

  • Physical labor; includes heavy lifting

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

 

 

VENDORS/ VENDOR ALLEY/FOOD TRUCKS

THE CREW:

The festival is fortunate enough to exhibit the talents of local and talented vendors.This crew assists the vendors in organization and set up, supports their needs on site and ensures that on festival weekend their experience is a positive one 

THE JOB:

  • Attend pre-festival vendor orientation

  • Set up of Vendor Alley Tenting

  • Set up and take down of tables/chairs/lighting/power 

  • Provide support on site for vendors

  • Ensure all vendor requirements are fulfilled according to their contract

THE MUSTS:

  • A minimum of 16 years of age

  • Working with the public; strong interpersonal skills

  • Walking or standing for periods at a time

  • Physical labor; includes heavy lifting

 

 

ENVIRONMENTAL/GROUNDS MAINTENANCE


THE CREW:

This team makes the festival grounds shine neat tidy and clean throughout the entire festival.  Personality plus, cheerful and happy to serve, these crews have the most team fun on the field because they get to see and experience every piece of the field. Great opportunity to get youth groups involved. This crew is responsible for handling recycling and waste throughout the weekend. They also play an important role in educating patrons on how to recycle and dispose of garbage to keep the festival lands beautiful!

THE JOB:

  • Monitor field and campground to keep it neat and tidy

  • Monitoring water and hand washing stations 

  • Monitoring porta potties for cleanliness and top ups of supplies

  • Liaison with water and sanitation companies 

  • Garbage/recyclable removal from bins on field and in campground

THE MUSTS:

  • Walking or standing for periods at a time

  • Ability to drive a golf cart

  • Willing to pitch in and at times get your hands dirty  

 

 

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT TEAM/RUNNERS


THE CREW

At NGL,our volunteers have each other’s backs.  There are some positions that are away from the action, and require constant attending. The Support team is there to make sure that all our field /parking lot/entrance volunteers stay hydrated and comfortable.

THE JOB:

  • Deliver beverages, snacks, messages, etc., to and from other crew members and team leads

  • Run errands as required

THE MUSTS:

  • Food and beverage handling

  • Walking or standing for periods at a time

  • Some lifting may be required

  • Ability to drive a golf cart

  • Ability to work well with a team and direction

  • Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Physical labor; MAY include heavy lifting

 

 

CATERING - VOLUNTEER/CREW/ARTIST/COMMAND CENTER 


THE CREW: 

One thing the festival is renowned for is its amazing selection of food!  This crew helps to ensure that 

all of our catering areas are maintained and hosted well  

THE JOB:

  • Set up and tear down of catering area

  • Hospitality maintenance of designated artist and Volunteer catering areas 

  • On site Liaison with catering company servicing these areas

  • Ensuring the adherence to Alberta Health and Safety Regulations

THE MUSTS:

  • A minimum of 18 years of age

  • Food and beverage handling

  • Physical labor; includes heavy lifting

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and Festival (asset)

 

 HOSPITALITY - ARTISTS & CREW 


THE CREW:

Our festival is the talk among the artists and we want to keep it that way! This crew plays an integral part in maintaining this reputation. 

THE JOB:

  • Running the Artist Village in hospitality/cleaning

  • Manning Artist Check in desk - check ins, welcome packages, meal information,

  • All access passes and ensuring call times for stage and transportation.

  • Liaison of scheduling with shuttle drivers 

  • Cleaning rooms/making beds/washing linens

  • Maintaining artists unit catering grab and go

  • Ability to identify guests and provide a welcoming environment

  • Make sure units are clean and tidy at all times

THE MUSTS:

  • A minimum of 25 years of age

  • Working with the public; strong interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail with housekeeping

  • Professionalism 

  • Food and beverage training (asset)

 

 

ARTIST /CREW ON SITE LOUNGE 


THE CREW:

Bon appetite! Keep performers and crew happy and fed. This amazing crew supports the catering company on site at the  festival

THE JOB:

                                                                      Lounge area  set up

                                                                    Lounge area cleanup

                                                                      Hostess’s/Servers

THE MUSTS:

  • A minimum of 18 years of age

  • Food and beverage handling

  • Physical labor; could include heavy lifting

  • Walking or standing for periods at a time

  • Interact with artists in a professional and friendly manner

  •  Hospitality experience (asset)

 

 

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO


THE CREW:

A picture is worth a thousand words! This crew is responsible for capturing our favourite festival moments so that we can relive them for years to come.

THE JOB:

  • Acquiring photos of all aspects of the festival throughout the weekend

  • Store all images and footage to memory sticks to give to NGL producers

THE MUSTS:

  • A minimum age 18 years of age

  • Working with the public; strong interpersonal skills

  • Provide your own camera equipment

  • Walking or standing for periods at a time

  • Training and experience in photography

  • Professionalism

 

VOLUNTEER SERVICE SUPPORT


THE CREW:

Our volunteer service support crew is there for our volunteers throughout the weekend, providing them with the hospitality and support they deserve.  

THE JOB:

  • Handing out volunteer credentials and t-shirts

  • Answer or find answers when required to questions related to volunteer crews and areas assigned

  • provide a shift check in and check out system

  • Manage and maintain the volunteer command center

  • Liaise with Volunteer  Coordinators

THE MUSTS:
